TML Talk #21
Getting started with traffic insights on your own
Simulate, analyse, and evaluate
Local traffic and mobility policy is formed by the highway code and both local and regional mobility plans. Within these frameworks, temporary and permanent measures are deployed to optimise road safety, modal shift, and traffic flow for all road users.
But what is the effect of a diversion, roadworks, a cut-off, or a reversed direction of traffic? How can you detect cut-through traffic and simulate the impact of a new spatial development on the existing road network?
During our 21st TML Talk, three speakers explained how you can qualitatively simulate new traffic measures in an accessible and realistic way and quickly generate useful traffic insights.
Frederik Bockemühl, mobility officer in the city of Mortsel, provided interpretation from practice, while Glenn Homblé (Cegeka) and Rodric Frederix (TML) explained the use of Mobilize and Traffic Scout in one integrated application.
Moderator was Wouter Florizoone (TML), who introduced the topic and speakers and moderated the Q&A session.
