This study gathered reliable information on the costs of energy generation and the energy system, as well as additional costs arising from environmental impacts, for EU and G20 countries. TML was transport expert within the broader analysis of the energy value chain, from production to consumption.

The aim of this study was to provide a consistent set of data on both generation and system costs and externalities in the energy sector, and that for the EU and non-EU G20 countries. The study covered
  • the main electricity generation technologies (from fossil fuels to renewables),
  • heating and cooling technologies, and
  • transmission, distribution, and storage of electricity and gas
and covered the entire energy value chain from primary generation to transformation, transmission, distribution, storage, and consumption of energy.

TML participated in this study as an expert on the transport sector.
