Master plan Izegem

From 2014 to 2016
TML supported PALMBOUT in the traffic engineering of the master plan for Izegem, focusing on a well-functioning multimodal traffic organisation that reinforces the spatial vision and promotes the identity of all cores in the city.

TML supported the temporary association PALMBOUT Urban Landscapes - Collective North with the traffic engineering of the master plan for the city of Izegem. This was done in strong interaction with the design process and with great attention to the qualitative and quantitative aspects of a well-functioning multimodal traffic organisation that reinforces the spatial elaboration of the master plan.

Izegem will use this master plan to frame future developments within a broader vision. Although the emphasis is on the town centre, the aim is also to create a distinct identity and character for all Izegem's centres, while ensuring their mutual cohesion. The spatial vision thus also includes proposals for future redevelopment works in the other Izegem centres. The master plan makes strategic choices regarding spatial development. Special attention is paid to the issue of mobility and housing in all its aspects, as well as to greenery in the city. Communication through participation was an important part of the process.
