In this study, EMMOL (EMissieMOdel Luchtvaart) was developed to calculate emissions of air pollutants and greenhouse gases for aviation in Flanders. The calculation was done in accordance with the most recent guidelines for international and European reporting. The model starts from different data sources and combines different calculation methods to arrive at its results. Emissions are determined for both domestic and international air traffic and for both civil and military aviation. Besides the calculation for recent years, it also provides a future scenario.
