Evaluation framework temporary traffic measures

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many cities implemented temporary cycling infrastructure and traffic measures to create space for pedestrians and cyclists. Commissioned by Fietsberaad Vlaanderen, TML developed an evaluation framework for these temporary measures.
Many cities and towns realised temporary cycling infrastructure or took traffic measures because of COVID-19. Many of these measures aimed to create sufficient space, primarily for pedestrians but also for increased bicycle traffic.
How do you evaluate the effect of those measures? Have they been useful? What can we learn from them for the mobility system in general and bicycle traffic in particular? Fietsberaad Vlaanderen wants to support towns and municipalities in this evaluation. Dirk Engels (Transport & Mobility Leuven) is a European authority on mobility evaluation. He was commissioned by Fietsberaad Vlaanderen to draw up an evaluation framework for temporary traffic measures.
To learn how to use the evaluation framework, Fietsberaad Vlaanderen organised a webinar 'Evaluation of temporary traffic measures' on Thursday 25 June. The webinar can help you find out what effect the measure had and whether it may make sense to keep it or apply it in other places as well. Even for temporary traffic measures unrelated to COVID-19, the framework can provide fascinating material to support the decision-making process at the local level.
You can find the recording of the webinar with explanation, the PowerPoint, and the tool itself on this webpage of Fietsberaad Vlaanderen. All information about the evaluation framework can be found here (Dutch only).
