Optimisation study of the BUDA company zone

From 2018 to 2022
TML carried out mobility studies and traffic analyses in the spatial optimisation study for the Buda business zone in Vilvoorde. The study focused on improved access via Budasteenweg and the optimisation of several intersections to increase the liveability and sustainability of the zone.

The Buda business zone in Vilvoorde fell into disrepair after the closures of Renault, Cokeries de Marly, VTR, and other companies. The province of Flemish Brabant wanted to draw up a spatial optimisation study. Within the optimisation study, the various partners, together with the economic actors, examined how the zone could be made more liveable in the future within a sustainable economic context. Architecture firm 1010au led the project.

Within this project, TML was responsible for mobility studies and traffic analyses, providing operational support to the entire team from a mobility perspective. We investigated possible ways of improving access to the site via Budasteenweg and looked at how various intersections could be optimised.
