Traffic Scout COMPAIR Sint-Niklaas

24027

The COMPAIR project needs Traffic Scout, a traffic model that uses citizen data to simulate the effects of traffic measures in Sint-Niklaas. TML is preparing the model to be used for traffic analyses and estimating the impact of new measures.

In the framework of the European citizen science project COMPAIR, there is a need for a local multimodal traffic model that, among other sources, can be fed with traffic counts collected by citizens, to simulate the impact of traffic interventions (e.g., circulation measures, speed limits, new roads). This Traffic Scout transport model contains data for the two COMPAIR project zones (Vogelkeswijk and Vijfstraten) in the city of Sint-Niklaas.

TML prepares the traffic tool and data layers so that after a short training session, the client can easily and effectively use the tool for various traffic analyses and simulations.Traffic Scout can visualise traffic intensities for cyclists, cars, and heavy traffic as well as simulate new traffic measures, thanks to substantiated, objective testing. This allows the client to truthfully estimate the potential impact of traffic measures.
