Roeland Vandenberghe
ResearcherRoeland Vandenberghe is a civil engineer with a special interest in the multidisciplinary challenges of mobility planning. In 2021, he graduated with a Master's degree in Logistics & Traffic, for which he designed a C-ITS application for improved traffic light control for his thesis. At TML, he works on various projects involving traffic modelling, building microsimulations, social cost-benefit analyses, data analyses, mobility studies, and others.

Traffic light control systems: an overview
An overview of all traffic light control systems TML developed.

Transport potential of De Lijn
In this project, we examine how many trips can be made by bus in each transport region.

SCBA A12
TML provided an SCBA for the redesign of the A12 motorway between Wilrijk and Boom.

Traffic Scout
TML developed a simplified traffic model that uses Telraam data to analyse local mobility interventions in collaboration with citizens.

Complex project eastern connection
How can the eastern part of the Harbour route be organised in an alternative way?

Cut-through traffic Leuven-East
TML, together with partners SBE, Antea, and DenS, is looking for solutions to the cut-through traffic problem in the eastern outskirts around Leuven.

Ecosystem analysis of local traffic count data
TML mapped the ecosystem and developed a solutions catalogue about traffic counts for cities and municipalities.

Ottenburg residential area
TML provided traffic engineering advice in the development of a master plan for Ottenburg. This aimed to strengthen the village centre into a car-free residential area, with pedestrians and cyclists taking centre stage.

Traffic Scout COMPAIR Sint-Niklaas
The European COMPAIR project is developing a local multimodal traffic model, fed by citizen traffic counts, to accurately simulate traffic measures in Sint-Niklaas.

Management system for the traffic lights in Antwerp
We collaborated on the development and implementation of an innovative traffic management and control strategy.

OptiRoutS
This project used a combination of classical traffic models and artificial intelligence to develop a predictive model for real-time traffic situations.

Road works impact management for complex R0 x A201
TML provides bid support for Brussels Ring Road.

Redesigning the A12 as a primary road
As part of Team A12, TML studies the redesign of the A12 to improve safety and traffic flow for all road users.

Mobility modelling for Namur and Eupen
TML participated in the development and application of four-step traffic models for the cities of Namur and Eupen.

PTW (powered two-wheelers) modelling study
What is the impact of powered two-wheelers on the environment, mobility, and road safety?

Impact assessment of policy measures on harmonised River Information Services
What are the economic, social, and environmental impacts of a possible new European directive around River Information Services?

MOBER Cardoensite Hasselt
TML worked out a mobility study of a new-build project in Hasselt.

Impact traffic jam filtering motorcyclists
What is the impact of traffic jam filtering by motorcyclists on journey times for all road users in Luxembourg?

Data processing intersection detectors Antwerp
TML processed and presented detections from loop detectors at Antwerp intersections.

FLOMOVIA
TML will update and apply the FLOMOVIA tool to calculate vehicle performance in Flanders.

TML'ers have their say! #8
In this section we would like to introduce you to our colleagues at TML. This way you get to know us a little better and discover what everyone within TML is doing. Recently we had a conversation with Bart, Roeland, and Inge!
