Impact Study for the New Brussels Postal Sorting Centre

From 2013 to 2014
TML carried out microsimulations with Vissim to support the impact study for the new Brussels mail sorting centre, analysing the intersections around the site and the slip road at the R0.
A project team led by Antea conducted an impact study for Brussels' new postal sorting centre (at the Marly site in Neder-Over-Heembeek). To support this impact study, TML did micro-simulations with Vissim. The intersections around the site and the slip road on the R0 were simulated (the circled intersections on the figure below). Here we took into account the opening and closing of the Buda Bridge.
A simulation was made of the reference condition and of the situation during operation of the postal sorting centre, each time for two peak moments. The simulations show that the intersections continue to function.
