TML completed the Mobility sub-report of the plan-MER A102-R11bis, which analyses alternative traffic solutions and the impact of the plan on accessibility, traffic liveability, and traffic safety, with the aim of relieving the Antwerp Ring Road and tackling cut-through traffic in the eastern outskirts of Antwerp.

TML completed the Mobility sub-report of the EIR plan A102-R11bis in function of a regional spatial implementation plan (if any) to be drawn up. The objectives of this plan were included in the 2020 master plan (September 2010), which set a double objective for this new infrastructure:
  • Decongest the Antwerp Ring Road.
  • Providing a solution for cut-through traffic in the eastern outskirts of Antwerp.

In this sub-report, a large number of alternative solutions were elaborated in traffic terms and the impact of the proposed plan A102-R11bis and its alternatives were analysed in detail based on a number of indicators in terms of accessibility, traffic liveability, and traffic safety. This resulted in a number of decisions regarding the progress of this part of the Antwerp Master Plan.

The final report is attached; additional annexes can be found on the website of the Environment Department under Environmental Impact Assessment.
