From 2014 to 2015
TML worked with Tractebel to elaborate the traffic planning concept for three priority tramlines around Brussels, based on traffic analyses and dynamic simulations, as a basis for the reference design of the tramlines.
In support of Tractebel Engineering NV, TML helped develop the traffic engineering concept for the three priority tram lines around Brussels, specifically
TML analysed the traffic functioning of part of these corridors, in particular the lines from Zaventem airport to NATO and from Zaventem to Vilvoorde, based (among other things) on an extensive counting campaign. The most complex points were additionally simulated with the dynamic simulation model Vissim.
On this basis, TML worked out the traffic planning concept for the incorporation of the tram lines. This is the basis for drawing up the reference design required a DBFM contract (Design, Build, Finance, Maintenance) with the future parties to realise these lines.
In support of Tractebel Engineering NV, TML helped develop the traffic engineering concept for the three priority tram lines around Brussels, specifically
- the tramline between Willebroek-Brussels along the A12 motorway (22 km),
- the tramway between Jette and Zaventem (18 km), and
- the tramline between Brussels and Zaventem airport (5 km).
