Commercial Vehicle of the Future – IRU Working Group
15058
From 2015 to 2016
TML supported the IRU (International Road Transport Union) in defining the truck of the future in terms of fuel consumption, safety, and operational efficiency.
During an interactive process with stakeholders, desk research, and validation, we sketched a picture of the truck in 2050. Using a backtracking approach (working from distant goals back to the present), the necessary intermediate steps were determined for 2020, 2025, 2030, 2035, 2040, and 2045 to achieve the objectives.
The project covered freight transport in three markets: long-distance transport, regional transport, and urban transport.
