Joren Vanherck
ResearcherAs a civil engineer and physicist, Joren Vanherck translates complex traffic data into useful insights. He specialises in traffic modelling and simulations, with extensive experience in GIS and geographical data analysis. As lead programmer of Traffic Scout, he develops and optimises complex algorithms and processes OpenStreetMap data for innovative mobility solutions.

Support MDVM
Dynamic traffic models capture travel times and traffic jams in a realistic manner and are therefore ideally suited for scenario analyses at local and regional level to support dynamic traffic management.

Traffic Scout
TML developed a simplified traffic model that uses Telraam data to analyse local mobility interventions in collaboration with citizens.

Cut-through traffic Leuven-East
TML, together with partners SBE, Antea, and DenS, is looking for solutions to the cut-through traffic problem in the eastern outskirts around Leuven.

MOMENTUM
TML developed a toolkit for modelling emerging transport modes and technologies.

OptiRoutS
This project used a combination of classical traffic models and artificial intelligence to develop a predictive model for real-time traffic situations.

Mobility modelling for Namur and Eupen
TML participated in the development and application of four-step traffic models for the cities of Namur and Eupen.

Vision on truck parking
TML collaborated on a supported vision for truck parking in Flanders.

Design the multimodal infrastructural landscape Zelzate
TML worked on a concept plan for the spatial development and traffic organisation of the Zelzate Canal Zone.

AMALFI: Autonomous Measurement Network for the Analysis of Liveable Cycling Infrastructure
The AMALFI project will use low-cost sensors, ad hoc video analysis, and innovative modelling techniques to realise detailed functional use analysis of cycling infrastructure.

FLOMOVIA
TML will update and apply the FLOMOVIA tool to calculate vehicle performance in Flanders.

TML'ers have their say! #1
