The city of Leuven wanted to replace its parking guidance system with an advanced traffic management system providing real-time traffic information. TML analysed the traffic aspects in the Leuven context and worked out a technical design with relevant specifications.
The city of Leuven wanted to replace its current parking guidance system with a state-of-the-art traffic management system. Within such a system, dynamic signage is not limited to parking-related information, but also provides road users with general real-time traffic information about the roads and any roadworks.
Within this project, we studied all traffic-related aspects of such a traffic management system, specifically applied within the Leuven context. This included an analysis of foreign examples of high-performance traffic management systems, an analysis of the relevant hardware and software to make the system operational, and an analysis of the long-term possibilities of such a system. The outcome of this project was a final technical design and an inventory of technical specifications. The City of Leuven used these in a market consultation, which resulted in a partner who installed the system.
