TML is working with Antea and Buur on the master plan for the intersection of the Turnhout Ring R13 with the N19, aimed at improving road safety and traffic flow. TML is responsible for the V-plans for the lighting controls and microsimulations of three layout variants.
The intersection of the Turnhout R13 Ring Road with the N19 (Steenweg op Zevendonk) is one of the heaviest black spots in Flanders. A master plan already exists to make this intersection and the neighbouring intersection of the R13 with Steenweg op Tielen safer.
Together with Antea and Buur, TML is further developing this master plan. We took into account the various wishes of the City of Turnhout (adaptations to the local traffic circulation, arranging green spaces, improved bicycle relations, etc.), AWV (safety and traffic flow on the R13), and De Lijn (smooth bus connections, including an HOV connection between the Turnhout station and the new Mobipoint in the north-western corner of the intersection R13 - N19).
