From 2019 to 2025
The new connection between the N10 and the R11 should relieve Mortsel and Borsbeek of through and heavy traffic. TML is responsible for the Human-Mobility discipline and analyses the impact of the new road on traffic through traffic counts and model calculations.
In the context of the possible construction of the new connection between the N10 Liersesteenweg and the R11 Krijgsbaan, we are conducting a plan environmental impact report together with our partners. The aim of this connection is specifically to relieve the transits of Mortsel and Borsbeek of (cut-)through traffic and heavy traffic in particular.
TML is responsible for the Human-Mobility discipline. We will conduct specific traffic counts and combine them with insights from model calculations to determine the impact of the new road on traffic flow in a wide area of influence. We are paying extra attention to the design of the junctions of the new road with the R11 and with the N10, in terms of both traffic flow and road safety.
